In March 2025 Cal Fire released a new fire hazard map for LA County. Previously the entire Palos Verdes peninsula was listed as "Very High Fire Severity". With this new map all of Rollingwood and much of Rolling Hills Estates in general is no longer listed as at any severity level. The RHE City counsel adopted this new map in May of 2025. The revised map is available here. As a result of these changes Rollingwood residents will not be subject to the County brush clearance inspections.

Regardless of this new determination the threat of wild fire is still significant and homeowners should consider taking steps to fire-harden their properties.
